DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Ensure the Dairy and Agriculture projects are designed, developed and sustainably implemented in the communities with community-based livelihood strategies.
Coordinate with other sector development initiatives and relief activities in the YGL project locations.
Ensure that the smallholder farmers are mobilized in income generation and economic security advancement strategies to boost the local economies related to dairy and agriculture, improving community access and utilization of savings and insurance programmes while ensuring the inclusion of women and other vulnerable groups in all phases of the project cycle and related activities.
Direct and guide the development of integrated farming including:
Individual household income improvement models and
Development of household income generation strategies
Direct and guide training on key capacity-building topics, such as improving cultivation practices, cattle management, environmental health, and diversification of livelihood/alternate trades to business management, bookkeeping, administration, etc.
Ensure that curriculums are developed for each approved training and that pre and post-tests, and other follow-up tools, are used to monitor training impact.
Initiate, cultivate and maintain a good relationship with community partners, stakeholders and other sector players - Govt, authorities, INGOs, NGOs, community-based organizations, etc.
Adhere to all administrative processes and secure all documentation needed during the project implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or Animal Husbandry
+Three years minimum related experience in the sector with a proven track record of improving household/community income generation.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Tamil
Experience in project design, managing work plans and using monitoring and evaluation tools.
Self-motivated, ability to work independently in an efficient and timely fashion.
Strong humanitarian interest and commitment to fieldwork.
