Banking and /or Financial Services experience, Knowledge of a web development framework such as Angular, Experience with development on Sharepoint
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as a Software Engineer with the following development environments:
Microsoft Visual Studio development environment using .net, .net core , .net MVC,
Entity Framework, C# Windows Forms and WPF applications o Experience using a code-first approach
Microsoft SQL Server experience including designing databases, creating queries,
views, functions and stored procedures o Experience with both desktop and web application development
Expert knowledge of SAP Business Objects
Experience using source code and project management tools for example
Git or Microsoft Team Foundation Services o Or Jira
Following an agile development approach
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work within deadlines
Business intelligence analytical skills
Good organizational skills
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English Desirable:
Re-Insurance Industry experience
Banking and /or Financial Services experience
Knowledge of a web development framework such as Angular
Experience with development on Sharepoint
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Required: A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Business Information Systems or related discipline.
Desirable: Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MTA, MCSA or MCSD including older versions of these qualifications are desirable but not an absolute requirement
Develop internal proprietary applications and reporting solutions which includes:
Establishing business requirements in conjunction with the operations teams o Preparing and designing system specifications based on established business requirements
Completing proof of concept exercises to determine the operational feasibility of the proposed solutions
Programming internal proprietary applications based on approved proposed solutions
Managing the software development projects assigned from start to deployment
Maintain and enhance multiple existing reporting solutions and internal applications
Manage an existing team of software engineers including:
Delegating development tasks to the software engineers from the ongoing projects
supporting and developing (mentoring) the software engineers by providing advice, coaching and technical help
Perform other internal information technology-related duties as required - for example, monitor reporting processes
